1. Exploring Wild Flowers 
Provide the children with access to the "Wildflowers cards" (Downloadable Material). In groups, ask them to make notes while discussing these questions:

Do you recognize any of these flowers?

How can you tell one flower apart from another? (What features do you look at?)

Which flower is your favourite, and why? 

2. Building an Identification Guide 
Invite the groups to share their ideas while you create a class list of flower identification features (e.g. colour, number and shape of petals, centre part, smell, size, number of flowers on a stalk). 

3. Flowers in Art 
Play the "Plants and Patterns" video (Downloadable Material) on the board, showing how an artist uses flower features to inspire a design. 

4. Creating Designs 
Provide stationery and materials prepared beforehand and allow the children to create their own flower-inspired designs based on their chosen favourite from the Wildflowers cards. 

5. Sharing the Message 
Make a display of the children’s designs and together decide on a slogan about the beauty and value of wildflowers, challenging the idea that they are just “weeds.” Place the display somewhere visible in the school to spread awareness.
