1. Introduction

Show the video "Il-Pitirross/The Robin" present in the “Downloadable Materials” and ask guiding questions such as:

“What colour is the robin’s chest?”, “Have you seen this bird before?”

Explain that robins are often seen in autumn and winter and like to live near trees. 

2. Outdoor Observation

Go to an outdoor space with trees (school garden, playground, park) and encourage children to look up into branches and listen for bird sounds. Remind them to move slowly and keep voices low. 

3. Listening & Observation Moment

Pause in one spot and listen quietly for bird songs. If a robin is spotted, observe from a distance its appearance: 

• Red/orange chest; 

• Small size; 

• Hopping movement. 

4. Creative Follow-Up Activity  

Back indoors or outside, children can colour the "Robin Postcard" in the Downloadable Materials using paint, crayons, or natural materials (leaves, small stones).
